I have a thing for trying out the crispy noodle combination whenever I eat at a new Viet restaurant. It’s a standard dish that I like to order to test out a new place and how well they prepare it.
Yesterday’s lunch was at Tan Tan in Box Hill. The serving size was normal. Veggies were perfectly stir fried and the combination of chicken, bbq pork and beef were plenty to fulfill any meat lover’s palate. Now the best part of this dish is the noodles, which I sadly have to say Tan Tan failed to deliver the crunch I was anticipating. It was a different kind of noodles I am used to. They were crispy, but the flimsy-prawn-cracker kind of soft crisp that just didn’t satisfy my mouth at all.
It’s a shame because everything above the noodles was fantastically flavoursome :[
To end things off on a more unfortunate note, my jasmine tea was not complimentary. If i knew that thermos was gonna cost me $4 , i’d have drank more than 1 cup -__-
